11 Ways To Cope With The Harmattan.

Harmattan is one of the seasons in west Africa. It is a dry a dusty weather which blows south from the Sahara to the gulf of Guinea between the end of November to March. It is associated with cold heat,dust, cracked lips,dry skin,hair breakage,cold,catarrh and cough. 1.Get hydrated:Drink lots of fluids especially water,hot tea,and hot soups. Avoid carbonated drinks as they are dehydrating. 2.Take hot water baths 3.Avoid antiseptic soaps as they tend to dry out the skin;use moisturizing soap instead. 4.Apply petroleum jelly or olive oil as they help fight dry skin. 5.Keep your hair from drying out and breaking by applying coconut oil on your scalp and hair. 6.Use lip balms 7.Cover your nose while out on the streets to prevent from inhaling dust. 8.Wear warm clothes. 9.Sicklers and asthmatic patients should be very conscious and carry their inhaler with them wherever they go. 10.Due to the dusty weather,it is advisable to wash your hands regularly and apply sanitizer. 11.Clean your furnitures and floors daily.
